Preguntas Frecuentes (FAQ)
Q: What input signal protocols are compatible with the Foxeer Reaper F4 Mini 45A ESC and which is recommended for optimal FPV performance?
A: The Foxeer Reaper F4 Mini 45A ESC is compatible with DShot 150/300/600/1200, MultiShot and OneShot. For optimal FPV performance, we recommend using DShot 600 or DShot 1200 because of their greater precision and lower latency compared with analog protocols such as MultiShot and OneShot. DShot 1200 offers the highest precision, but DShot 600 is a good balance between performance and compatibility.
Q: The Foxeer Reaper F4 Mini 45A ESC has no BEC. What are the implications for powering the FC (Flight Controller) and other drone components?
A: Since it has no BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit), the Foxeer Reaper F4 Mini 45A ESC does not provide power to the FC or other components. This means you will need a separate power source for the FC, such as a Lipo battery connected to a voltage regulator (Power Distribution Board – PDB) or an FC capable of being powered directly from the battery. Make sure the FC is compatible with the battery voltage you are using (3S-6S).
Q: What are the maximum continuous and burst currents this ESC can supply and how does this affect motor selection for my FPV drone?
A: The Foxeer Reaper F4 Mini 45A ESC has a continuous current of 45A and a burst current of 65A per motor. When selecting motors, it is crucial that the maximum current the motor can draw (its 'max current draw') is lower than the ESC's burst current. Ideally, the motor's continuous current should be within the 30-40A range to ensure reliable operation and avoid ESC overheating. If the motor requires more current, an ESC with higher capacity would be needed.
