Description
iFlight RGB LEDs on race wires
Race wires are boards that sit on the arm and join the ESC wires to the motor wires. They keep the wires away from the props and let you swap a motor without opening the drone. These iFlight RGB LEDs add 10 coloured LEDs to each race wire, so you light the arms without soldering separate strips.
They are two-layer boards with 2 oz copper that handle 40 A continuous, and weigh 2.2 g each, almost the same as a normal race wire. The power side and the LEDs work separately: the LEDs run on 5 V and are driven by a programmable signal.
iFlight RGB LED specifications
- LEDs: 10 RGB 3535 per board
- Race wire current: 40 A continuous
- LED supply: 5 V
- Size: 45 × 8 × 4 mm
- Weight: 2.2 g per board
- Contents: 4 race wires and 1 distribution board
How to wire them
On each board, solder the ESC wires on one side and the motor wires on the other. Power the LEDs from 5 V, connect the IN pad to the flight controller’s LED signal and the O pad to the next race wire to chain them. Insulate the board well from the carbon, which conducts electricity.
Frequently asked questions about the iFlight RGB LEDs
Can they be controlled from Betaflight?
