What the RadioMaster AX12 is for

It is designed for setting up and flying from the same device. With MAVLink passthrough over Wi-Fi you can use compatible apps such as QGroundControl or Betaflight Configurator on the radio itself and check telemetry without taking a laptop to the field.

With the DJI Fly app and a USB-C OTG cable, the AX12 screen can show the live video from DJI goggles. That way a spotter or instructor can watch the flight while the pilot wears the goggles.

Before buying, check that your drone has an ExpressLRS receiver or that you can fit one.

Android or EdgeTX: what changes

RadioMaster radios such as the GX12 or the TX16S run EdgeTX. The RadioMaster AX12 runs RadioMasterOS: it keeps mixes, 12-point curves, dual rates, model templates, voice alerts and Lua scripts, but you operate it from the touchscreen and you can install Android apps.
